In order to reduce the energy loss during transport to and from the freezer room, Vanreusel Snacks from the Belgian city Hamont in 2013 has opted for a high-pressure freezer room air curtain, brand AFIM IGLO®. This high pressure freezer room air curtain is fully supplied and installed by the firm Air In Motion. Due to the unique function of this high-pressure freezer room air curtain (AFIM® Air Door), combined with active air drying, not only condensation and ice formation will be prevented, there will also be considerable savings on energy.

The advantage of high-pressure air curtains at a freezer room is that an open view is created and thus a free passage for transport arises. Because of the many transportation in the passage a strip curtain or high-speed door is not an option, as in the past collision damage has been shown regularly. In addition, the freezer room temperature is maintained by means of the AFIM IGLO®, in spite of a continuous open door for transport. For this reason the number of defrosting actions of the evaporators is greatly reduced which results in significant energy savings, in addition to the practical advantages.
About Vanreusel Snacks
The Belgian family company Vanreusel was founded by Paul Vanreusel in 1953 and has its origins in the preparation of traditional meats such as hams, various paté and sausage products. Thanks to changes in the market in 1970 they switched gradually to frozen snacks.
