To reduce energy loss during transport, Hessing Supervers from the Dutch city Helmond has chosen to implement a high pressure cold store air curtain at its busy logistic passages. These high pressure cold store air curtain are fully supplied and installed by the company Air In Motion. Because of the unique operation of the high pressure cold store air curtain (AFIM® Air Door) there is an annual saving on maintenance and repair costs where formerly high-speed doors were used. Besides saving on maintenance, damages and repairs (obvious cold store air curtains will not be damaged while driving through the passages) there will also be considerable savings on energy.

The advantage of the high-pressure air curtains at the cold store at Hessing Supervers: an open view is created so a free passage for transport arises. Because of the many transportation within the company Hessing Supervers high-speed doors are not an option. The cold store temperature is maintained well by means of the AFIM® Air Doors, in spite of continuous open doors. The number of defrosting actions of the evaporators is also greatly reduced which results in significant energy savings, in addition to the practical advantages.
