Have you ever wondered how online groceries are picked and ultimately delivered to your front door flawlessly and at the right temperature?
In collaboration with Veld Koeltechniek, Air In Motion provides various solutions to ensure the "picking process" within Ahold Delhaize (Albert Heijn) runs safely. To prevent snow formation and slippery floors, Air In Motion has been developing and implementing solutions for Ahold's Home Shop Centers for many years. In contrast to standard distribution centres, these specially developed Home Shop Centers have ceilings of only approximately 3 meters in height. Everything is aimed at picking (frozen) products as efficiently and ergonomically as possible. High pallet racks are therefore undesirable. However, the low ceiling also creates a new problem: snow formation.
The combination of an order picking freezer room with a low ceiling (where frozen orders are picked at eye level) in combination with a dried air lock prevents slippery floors and dangerous situations from arising during order picking. The picking process can therefore be carried out quickly, safely and efficiently.
