To reduce energy loss during transport, fruit and vegetables giant Levarht Aalsmeer has chosen to implement high pressure cold room air curtains at its passages. These high pressure cold room air curtains are fully supplied and installed by the company Air In Motion. Because of the unique operation of the high pressure cold room air curtains (AFIM® Air Doors) there is an annual saving on maintenance and repair costs of fixed sliding doors which are being used less in the new situation. Besides saving on maintenance, damages and repairs (obvious cold store air curtains will not be damaged while driving through the passages) there will also be considerable savings on energy.

The advantage of the high pressure air curtains at the cold room at Levarht: an open view is created so a free passage for transport arises. Because of the many transportation within this logistics company the doors remained open continuously during the day. By placing the AFIM® Air Doors the temperature of the cold room is maintained well and even temperature-sensitive products can be placed near the passage (which previously was not possible).
